Boris Godunov at Covent Garden... and me in a dress.

Here is a little trailer video of my current project, Boris Godunov at the Royal Opera House.

This gem of a two hour piece is Directed by Richard Jones and Conducted by Antonio Pappano.  Bryn Tyrfel is taking the title role for the first time. It's my first time working with Richard, after seeing so many of his shows and hearing so much about his work its a real pleasure to watch his creative process, the man is certainly a one off.

This production has live global cinema broadcasts and will be available to own on DVD in the near future. keep an eye out!

Antonio Pappano conducts a new production of Musorgsky's magnificent opera, starring Bryn Terfel in the title role and directed by Richard Jones. Find out more at http://www.roh.org.uk/boris In the title role of Boris Godunov - Modest Musorgsky's only completed opera - the composer created one of the greatest bass-baritone roles in the canon.

So as the title suggests, I might be doing the O'l dressing up in a frock number in this production.. For some reason the creative team thought I best resembled a Russian gypsy clairvoyant. This is the design result.

And here are a few more shots from the production.

Krol Roger- DVD release

Back in March I had the pleasure of being hired as fight choreographer on the Royal Opera House Covent Garden's production of Krol Roger, Directed by the head man himself Kasper Holten, a seldom performed piece written by polish born composer Karol Szymanowski. The production was filmed live and broadcast around the world online. Now that very Broadcast is available to buy on Blueray and DVD.

The Telegraph called it "A Major Triumph" and awarded it 5 stars.

The Guardian said it was "a musical treat" and gave it 4 stars.

The Dolomites in Summer

The Dolomites in Summer

The early part of 2015 (April-Jul) for me was spent galavanting around Europe, I was playing the leading support in Oscar winner Giuseppe Tornatores new movie, "The Correspondence" or "La Corrispodenza" to give it it's Italian name. Staring Jeremy Irons and Olga Kurylenko, with a soundtrack by the one and only Ennio Morricone. This is the Italian director's second English language film after his 2013 movie "The Best Offer".  I happily landed the role of Jason,  a video wizard who works with and befriends Olga's "Amy" (I'll say more later).

To be able to work on a job giving me a month long access to the wonderful Dolomites and Italian Alps was an absolute joy.  An incredible region of Italy and one of the most beautiful places I have been to, a wealth of hills and valleys to hike and not to mention the ol Vino :)

Anyway... back to my point...  the first trailer has been released!!! Ok, it's in Italian but here's a first peek...
